My interest in wood began when I was aged seven, I’d gathered bits of wood to make a Go-Kart and discovered an interest in woodworking that continued to flourish leading to lots of other childhood projects. My Grandfather encouraged my interest and helped developed my skills further by making various model boats with me. Once I began secondary school and started wood work lessons I knew then that I would pursue a career in woodworking. My woodwork teacher recognised that I had a natural ability which expressed itself in a precision and passion for working with wood. The exam piece of furniture that I had made was used to show first year students what could be achieved by their final year. After leaving school I did a five year apprenticeship in antique furniture restoration and in 1991 after my training I set up my own restoration business. Seventeen years later, I decided to increase my scope and skills into the field of making furniture and kitchens and began working with a company based in Somerset which was expanding and produced high specification quality work. During my time with them I worked on many large projects some of which were local and others in London and international. After another five years, I took the opportunity to train and work with my brother as a first and second fix carpenter, working on various high quality buildings. With my wealth of expertise I then became freelance in 2008 and began Good-With-Wood
